Broadway Diner on Tour: All you need to know about the American phenomenon heading to Newcastle

For all musical theatre lovers, the perfect dining experience is heading to Newcastle in 2024.

A ‘Broadway Diner’ consists of guests sitting down for a meal in a restaurant while their servers belt out classic musical theatre hits around them.

The American-themed phenomenon has proven to be popular across the world with dedicated restaurants opening in the USA, Australia and in the UK, with those without one in their area travelling to the unique event.

However, it has now been announced that the ‘Broadway Diner’ will be coming to us, as the touring version of the event (Broadway Diner on Tour) adds Newcastle to its list of places to visit.

The theatrical extravaganza will take up a spot on Collingwood Street, on four separate dates in 2024; Sunday, January 21, Sunday, April 14, Sunday, July 21 and Sunday, November 17.

Each date has four time slots throughout the day, with the first slot being at 12pm until 1.30pm and the final slot of the day taking place at 6pm until 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £27.50 which includes booking fees. Tickets include entrance to the event, as well as a classic American diner style main meal, with drinks bought separately.

Throughout the 90-minute meal, there will also be interactive competitions to take part in, from trivia to dance-offs, with the opportunity to win prizes.

The set list has not been revealed, but the Broadway Diner on Tour have given hint to some of the musical theatre productions whose songs will be sung at the event, including Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King, Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Grease, The Sound of Music, Into The Woods and many more.
