Sharon explained: “Christmas is just around the corner, so we are super excited to be bringing the lovable but mischievous green antihero, The Grinch! We will make sure he won’t steal comic-con from us, but he will surely make you laugh and even smile!”

At Newcastle Comic Con, attendees will also be given the chance to chat to comic book artists, animators and authors, while there will also be vendor tables to visit with various collectibles and original artwork.

Cosplay, which is an activity where fans dress up as their favourite character is encouraged, with prizes to be won for the best costumes.

Sharon said: “This is the last comic-con event of the year and it is a great opportunity to come along and have some fun!

“Newcastle Comic-Con always has such an amazing atmosphere as everyone is there for a shared interest and to have a good time.

“Come along and see what Newcastle Comic-Con is all about – meet the celebrities, have your photo taken with your favourite Superhero, browse the smorgasbord of stalls with a vast selection of geeky goodies, dance with your anime friends, and it doesn’t even matter if you come along dressed as your favourite character or simply wear your favourite geeky t-shirt you are going to have an incredible time!”

Newcastle Comic Con will be held at St James’ Park on Sunday, November 12 from 11am to 5pm.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, and £5 for those under 16. Tickets can be bought on the door or online via the Unleashed Events ticket website.
