Cheryl celebrates 40th birthday alongside Girls Aloud members at cottage retreat

Geordie pop star and television personality, Cheryl Tweedy recently celebrated her 40th birthday over the weekend, on a group trip to a cottage retreat.

Cheryl turned 40 on Friday, June 30 and spent time with her closest friends and family, at a private cottage located in Suffolk named Wilderness Reserve.

The former Girls Aloud member who lives a fairly private life and rarely posts on social media, delighted fans when she uploaded an Instagram reel consisting of clips from her birthday celebrations.

Cheryl captioned the video: “As my 40th celebrations end and a new era begins I just wanted to wish all my fellow 83 babies the happiest of happy birthdays. Wishing for you inner peace , much love , joy & happiness ✨🥰 we made it through the turbulence ! They say life begins at 40 and I think I believe them 😘 thank you @wildernessreserve for the best birthday weekend I could’ve wished for 🫶🏼”

The reel showed the beautiful cottage the group stayed in, and what the group got up to on the birthday trip, which included swimming in the lake, axe throwing, archery, roasting marshmallows, a candlelit dinner and more.

Cheryl’s mother Joan was in attendance, as well as Cheryl’s 6-year-old son Bear, who she shares with former One Direction member Liam Payne.

Other guests at Cheryl’s birthday holiday included her long-time personal assistant and friend Lily England, Girls Aloud band member Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle, as well as her 2:22: A Ghost Story co-stars, Jake Wood, Louise Ford and Scott Karim.

Cheryl also posted a photo of herself on her birthday, wearing daisy sunglasses with a pink shirt and green trousers. She captioned the post: “So…this is 40”.

Geordie celebrities took to the comments to wish the star a happy birthday on social media, including Little Mix stars Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, and former Geordie Shore cast member Vicky Pattison.
