Northumbria Police have launched an investigation after Newcastle United’s club shop was broken into.

Police are investigating after the Newcastle United club shop, on Strawberry Place in Newcastle city centre, was broken into over night on Wednesday, August 30/Thursday, August 31.

It is reported that an offender had forced entry into the store, causing significant damage to the windows in the process.

Officers say that the offender has then taken a quantity of clothing from the shop before leaving the scene.

An investigation is underway and police are asking anyone with information relating to the incident to come forward and speak to them.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 6am today (Thursday) police received a report of burglary at a premises on Strawberry Place in Newcastle city centre.

“It was reported that an offender had forced entry to the store, causing significant damage to the windows.

“They have then taken a quantity of clothing before leaving the area.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting reference number: NP-20230831-0148.”
