Wanted man arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Trevor Bishop in North Shields

Police have confirmed a man who was wanted in connection with the death of Trevor Bishop in North Shields has now been arrested.

Yesterday (Tuesday, March 14), officers launched an appeal to members of the public for help in tracing a 54-year-old man in connection with the incident.

Overnight, the wanted man was arrested on suspicion of murder and he currently remains in police custody.

Police have also revealed that two men, aged 32 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They both remain in police custody.

Emergency services were called to an address on Clifton Gardens in North Shields shortly before 11.40pm on Tuesday, March 7, after they recevied reports of concern for a man.

Trevor was found with a head injury and taken to hospital for treatment but sadly passed away.
