‘Dad bod’ butlers in the buff - Newcastle firm eyes body-confident Geordies for paid posts

Britain’s leading stag and hen party, Gateshead based Last Night of Freedom are now recruiting for “men with dad bods” to work as naked butlers. Naked butlers are one of the most popular activities for hen parties, where muscular men are hired to serve drinks to the bride and her group of hens.

However, Last Night of Freedom is launching an alternative and more inclusive version of naked butlers, as they are looking to find confident men who represent real bodies. Managing Director Matt Mavir said:  “We want real blokes with real physiques who are body confident enough to ditch their clothes in front of a group of hens. Everyone has a different type, so rather than just offer young men with six packs, we want to celebrate diversity and offer buff butlers in all shapes and sizes.”

In the job, Dad bod butlers would be expected to strip off, wearing only an apron to protect their modesty. They will serve drinks and play games with the hens. According to Mavir, if the concept takes off, successful applications could earn hundreds of pounds per night. He said: “Buff butlers are always a huge hit with hens, and for groups wanting something with a bit of a twist, this is the perfect package.”

Mavir also went on to explain that the idea was inspired by an episode of Friends, where a character played by Danny DeVito turns up as the stripper for Phoebe’s (Lisa Kudrow) bachelorette party. “We came up with the idea of creating butlers who didn’t have gym bodies, but were real blokes with dad bods. Some women will see it as a great way to surprise the hen and it will definitely be a laugh, but this is also about turning people’s expectations on their head, and offering something different for hens. Buff butlers generally all look the same, so we are creating a fresh product – plus a lot of women prefer a bloke with a fuller figure or a silver fox so we encourage any man, of any age and body size to apply.”
