The well-known presenter has asked for boarders, plasterers, joiners and decorators to help the team over the weekend in an effort to complete the project.

Anyone who can spare their time to help has been promised a warm welcome and food by Knowles.

In a tweet, he said: “Urgently need boarders and plasterers and joiners to come give us a few hours today on our Wallsend SOS - we’ll feed you and make you super welcome - Shafto Street.”
