The host of DIY SOS, Nick Knowles, has put a call out on social media for tradespeople to help with a project in North Tyneside.

Nick Knowles has taken to Twitter to see if any tradespeople in the North East are free to help with a DIY SOS in Wallsend.

It is understood that the BBC show is currently undertaking a project on Shafto Street.

The well-known presenter has asked for boarders, plasterers, joiners and decorators to help the team over the weekend in an effort to complete the project.

Anyone who can spare their time to help has been promised a warm welcome and food by Knowles.

In a tweet, he said: “Urgently need boarders and plasterers and joiners to come give us a few hours today on our Wallsend SOS - we’ll feed you and make you super welcome - Shafto Street.”

The host then followed up this tweet with another, adding: “We just need joiners, boarders, plasterers and decorators over the weekend if anyone can spare us a day, two days or even half a day.”
