Do you know this man? Police seek information after Byker attempted robbery

Detectives investigating an attempted burglary in Newcastle have released an image of a man who they would like to trace.

At about 12.45am on January 22, officers received a report of an attempted burglary at an address on Maling Terrace, Byker.

It was reported that a suspicious male appeared outside of the victim’s front door and tried the handle, before being disturbed by the occupants and making off from the scene empty-handed.

An investigation is ongoing into the incident and officers have now identified a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the attempted burglary.

He was seen in the area at the time and could have valuable information that can assist the investigation.
