You may hear the words “fake festival” and wonder what that may entail. Is it a virtual event? Is it a prank? Well, since we have a fake festival coming to Tynemouth this year, we are going to clear up all of those burning questions for you, and let you know exactly what to expect.

Fake Festivals are an event company who tour the UK, providing “fake festivals” to local residents. The line-up of a fake festival consists of tribute acts, which is why the name “fake” is used to promote the event.

However, Fake Festivals ensure that only the best and most believable acts are booked, so that attendees can enjoy the performances as if they were the real thing.

Tynemouth’s Fake Festival will take place on Saturday, April 22 at Percy Park RFC, inside a giant marquee. The event will begin at 11.45am and will come to an end at 11pm.

The tribute act line-up specific to the Tynemouth event consist of Pulp’d (tribute to Pulp), INXS UK (tribute to INXS), New 2 (tribute to U2), Mused (tribute to Muse), Really Hot Chilli Peppers (tribute to Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and to close the event, Oasish (tribute to Oasis).

Ticket prices come in age group categories with adult prices starting from £32.50 and young prices (for people aged 10 to 17 years old) starting from £25. There are also disability prices as well as family bundles. Children under age 10 go free.

The event will also have various food and drink stalls on site. Outdoor entertainment for children such as face painting and fairground attractions are also available, depending on weather conditions.
