The team behind The Stand Comedy Club’s award-winning pantomime are back with another festive event this winter.

Billed as “the fastest and stupidest hour of alternative family comedy you’ll see all year”, the show will include  songs, sketches, character and stand up from some of the best comedy performers in the region - with a focus on keeping tickets cheap.

Written and performed by some of the most acclaimed comedy performers in the region, this will be a show that is unique to Newcastle’s festive season.

The show aims to bring genuine adult quality comedy for a family audience. The Big Family Christmas Show is made by experienced comedians and actors who know how to make children laugh and also appeal to adults.

The whole feeling will be different to a pantomime with kids given the chance to experience a genuine comedy club an exciting world where they’ll feel grown up and will be hearing more modern messages than you’ll hear at pantomimes across the North East over the festive season.

With the thought that there are modern audiences out there who want something newer and fresher for their children and, crucially, made by excellent comedians, tickets are available from the venue’s website now.

Prices start from £6 for under 18s with adult tickets only costing £10.

Lee Kyle, one of the key faces throughout the show, said: “Our main goals for this show is to make it as affordable as possible, include more up-to-date positive messages for young people and to be the stupidest adults they’ve ever seen. I really think we’ll manage!”

“I can’t wait to work on what I’m sure will be a very silly and sparkly show with the bestsilly and sparkly people!” added fellow cast member Elaine Robertson.
