American burger giant Five Guys is set to open its THIRD North East restaurant - and North Tyneside is the location they've chosen.

Further to its hugely popular MetroCentre and Northumberland St offerings, Five Guys will open a store at Wallsend's Silverlink Shopping Park with a launch date reportedly set for the 'coming months'.

Famed for its burgers with unlimited toppings and mountains of fries as well as hotdogs and milkshakes, the restaurant launched in the region in 2016 with it's Gateshead-based branch. Just one month later it opened its doors in the heart of Newcastle city centre.

The Silverlink restaurant is likely to be situated next to the Odeon cinema at the shopping hub, an area which has seen a number of outlets come and go with Pizza Hut and Nandos some of the latest offerings in that area.

Retailers such as McDonalds, M&S, Currys, Halfords, Argos, H&M, Sports Direct and Next are already situated at the shopping park.

Five Guys meals are famed for their quality and quantity with the company website stating that all burgers come with "15 free toppings to choose from, make it your own" while "all our fries come with an extra scoop in the bag" and customers have "over 250,000 different burger combinations".

The company was originally founded in Virginia in 1986, opening its first UK store in Covent Garden, London, in 2013.
