Gateshead crash leaves cyclist with ‘life-threatening’ injuries as police ask for public help
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man sustained life-threatening injuries in a road traffic collision in Gateshead.
At about 11.40pm on Wednesday (May 3), a Mercedes minibus and a man on a bicycle collided on the A694 Lockhaugh Road at the junction with Sherburn Park Drive, in Rowlands Gill.

Hide AdThe man who was on the bike, aged 44, suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision but was taken to hospital for treatment hospital and is now in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the minibus remained at the scene following the collision to assist officers with their enquiries.
Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or those with dash cam footage, to contact them.
