It was certainly a moment in history as the die-hard Newcastle United fan provided the audience (who were all donned in Newcastle United team shirts) with an incredible set at his beloved football ground.

It was certainly a moment not to miss for any Sam Fender or Newcastle United fan.

At his Sunday night performance, Fender surprised the audience by bringing fellow Geordie rockstar, AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson to the stage to perform AC/DC biggest hits.

But Johnson wasn’t the only Geordie celebrity in attendance at Fender’s homecoming gig.

Geordie presenting duo Ant and Dec were among the concert-goers, and they uploaded a photo of themselves from their seats to Instagram, alongside the caption: “Looking forward to seeing our Geordie ‘nephew’ Sam Fender!!’

In the photo, Ant and Dec can be seen smiling while waving a huge black and white flag, as fellow audience members looked on in disbelief at being so close to Newcastle ‘royalty’.

Another Geordie celebrity enjoying Fender’s St James’ Park was presenter Vick Hope, who attended the show with her family. She posted a slideshow of images and video clips to her Instagram feed, where she can be seen waving a flag like Ant and Dec and wearing a Newcastle United shirt.

She captioned the post: “Just the purest local pride emanating from St James’ Park this weekend, @samfender that was absolutely class.”
