Geordie TV star Vicky Pattison becomes ambassador for FoodCycle charity

Vicky Pattison has been announced as a new ambassador for FoodCycle, a charity that aims to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community.
The TV star was first introduced to FoodCycle through the charity’s Christmas Meal Appeal by the organisation’s corporate partner, Just Eat.

Hide AdVicky visited a FoodCycle project as part of the campaign and after meeting some of the people who use the service, she was keen to do more.
Now Vicky has volunteered at the FoodCycle Walker Project, which is close to where she grew up in an effort to raise awareness.
After volunteering, she said: “I was super excited to spend the day at FoodCycle Walker to help out with the weekly community meal.
“I grew up literally round the corner from here and I’m very proud of where I’m from.

Hide Ad“I feel like now, more so than ever, its super important that those that can are helping others.
“Today has been incredible, to see the work that is going on in my region. It’s inspirational and I’m very proud to have been involved.”

After becoming an ambassador for FoodCycle, Vicky will now support the national charity, something which she says that she is “proud” to do.

Hide AdShe added: “FoodCycle is absolutely incredible, and I feel very proud to be an ambassador and support their work.
“I feel like now, more so than ever it’s important that anyone who can, is supporting their community, whether that’s raising awareness or getting stuck in and volunteering.
“You should really get down there – the volunteers whip up amazing food – I came second on Celebrity MasterChef and I couldn’t do half the stuff they do in a FoodCycle kitchen!”
