Get ready to hand-jive your way to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal, as the iconic musical Grease is set to give North East audiences some summer lovin’ in June.
The well-known plot of Grease The Musical follows the love story of Sandy and Danny, who reunite at Rydell High School after a whirlwind summer romance, when Sandy transfers to the school for senior year.

Hide AdWhile many of us are very familiar with the 1978 film adaption of the musical, which stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta in the lead roles of Sandy and Danny, the stage production actually came first, premiering in Chicago in 1971.
With iconic and beloved musical numbers such as Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin' Hopelessly Devoted To You and You’re The One That I Want among many more, Grease still remains as one of the most successful musicals of all time.
The production of Grease The Musical that is heading to Newcastle this summer is produced by Colin Ingram for InTheatre Productions, Playing Field, Gavin Kalin and Curve, and has been directed by Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s former judge Arlene Phillips.

Starring in the production is a brand-new cast including; Hope Dawe as Sandy, Marley Fenton as Danny, Rebecca Stenhouse as Rizzo, George Michaelides as Kenickie, Alicia Belgrade as Frenchy alongside other talented individuals taking on the roles of the classic characters.
The amazing cast of Grease The Musical are set to perform at Newcastle’s top theatre venue, Theatre Royal for one week only.
Grease The Musical will be performing from Monday, June 10 and will run until Saturday, June 15.
