The Great North Run returns to Tyneside in just over a month and hotel availability is at a premium.
For many runners, whether they be chasing record times or simply hoping to make it across the finish line for charity, Sunday, September 11 has been in the calendar for many months.
The Great North Run is an event with a globally revered reputation too, meaning many participants travel to Newcastle from elsewhere in the UK and even overseas.
As such, hotel rooms are snapped up well ahead of time before prices skyrocket closer to the event.
The Great North Run race begins at 10:45 am on the Sunday, meaning that anyone not living in the North East will likely have to stay overnight on the Saturday.
If you've left your booking until the last minute, you might still be in luck.
A number of city centre hotels still have availability for a one-night stay on Saturday, September 10.
