Greggs creates four new jobs as it opens a new and improved Jesmond shop

North East-based bakery chain Greggs officially opened its new and improved shop in Jesmond over the weekend - creating four new jobs in the process.

Hide AdHaving been previously located at 34 Acorn Road, the Greggs shop has now relocated to a larger unit at 4 Acorn Road.
The new and improved shop will be stocked with all of Greggs’ iconic products such as the Sausage Roll, Steak Bake, Chicken Bake and its range of vegan alternatives.
The Jesmond store will also be serving a range of “over ice drinks” such as Cloudy Lemonade and an Iced Mocha, which are only available in a limited number of Greggs shops across the country.

Hide AdLucy McGivena, the shop’s manager, has given customers an insight into what they can expect from the brand new shop.
She said: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop.
“We’ve got an amazing range of iconic savouries, Fairtrade hot drinks, hot food and healthier choices available for takeaway, sit-in or Click + Collect.”

Hide AdThe relocation and opening of the new and improved shop means that the bakery chain has created four new jobs in the North East.
Gillian Long, retail operations director for Greggs, has welcomed the new staff members into the Greggs family.

Hide AdShe added: “We’re excited to be welcoming customers to our new and improved shop in Brecon, with four new members joining the existing team.
“We look forward to providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
There is the option to sit inside the new Jesmond shop, with the opening times as follows:
- Monday to Saturday: 6.30am until 7pm.
- Sunday: 7.30am until 5pm.
The new store will also be offering customers the option of using Greggs’ Click + Collect service via the bakery chain’s app.
