Harley-Davidson rider left in ‘critical condition’ after crash involving van in Wallsend

A Harley-Davidson rider was left in “critical condition” after a crash involving a van in Wallsend.

A black and brown Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a brown Mercedes Sprinter van collided on Stephenson Street near the Hadrian Road junction at around 4.30pm yesterday.

The rider of the Harley Davidson – a man in his 30s – was found to have sustained “serious injuries” when emergency services arrived.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

“We’re now asking for anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch.”

Officers said they were particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have dashcam or CCTV footage .
