The winter attraction will involve special effects, dynamic choreography, as well as a Christmas Village which will include fairground rides and food and drink provided by local businesses.

The light show itself, which promises an immersive visual experience with accompanying audio, has been provided by national and local talent, some of which have worked for the likes of Netflix and Glastonbury.

Northern Lights will be Newcastle’s only light trail, which has been created in collaboration with Urban Green Newcastle.

The 90 minute experience, which consists of a one mile accessible route, has already had over 30,000 pre-sale sign ups by Newcastle residents looking to purchase early bird tickets, and tickets put on sale today are expected to sell out very quickly.

To make the event accessible for everyone, the whole trail is flat, with wheelchair accessible paths, seating areas and ramp access points. There will also be time slots available to book, which will involve quieter audio and a reduced number of visitors. Queue jump wristbands are also available for those with additional needs.
