

Hometown Heroes: Newcastle pop icon Cheryl through the years
We take a look back at iconic moments throughout the pop star’s career.
Newcastle-born Cheryl became a pop sensation as part of the group Girls Aloud after successfully securing a place in the band and achieving a number one hit in 2002 as part of TV music competition show, Popstars: The Rivals.
From that moment, Cheryl became the most successful member of the group, embarking on a great solo career in both music and television.
Most recently, Cheryl announced that she will make her theatre debut in the role of Jenny in theatre production 2:22 A Ghost Story.
