Hotel Indigo Newcastle to reopen in spring following £2 million refurbishment

KE Hotels have unveiled their refurbishment plans for the city centre hotel.

A growing independent hotel owner and operator with locations across the country, have unveiled their plans to transform Hotel Indigo Newcastle. 

KE Hotels took over the Hotel Indigo Newcastle 148-room property on Fenkle Street last March, and have since embarked on an extensive refurbishment project of the hotel premises.

The £2 million renovation has included brand-new hotel rooms as well as a lobby, reception area and connecting restaurant. Each section has had a complete redesign as well as refurbishment in order to create modern and inviting spaces. 

The connecting restaurant will not only see a refurbishment but will also be under new ownership, opening as Social Bird, a chicken restaurant. The restaurant will offer a diverse range of food, beverages and dining options to hotel guests as well as passing trade.

KE Hotels’s plans to improve Hotel Indigo Newcastle is being done in the hopes of helping to refresh the city centre’s hotel and hospitality scene.

Given Hotel Indigo Newcastle’s prime location in the heart of the city centre, the improvement plans hope to attract visitors to the city centre, looking for the perfect place to stay. 

KE Hotels also hopes to collaborate with the local community, using Hotel Indigo Newcastle as a welcoming hub, while also getting involved with local initiatives from charities and businesses.

Hotel Indigo Newcastle’s renovation by KE Hotels will be complete by spring 2024.
