How to celebrate National Christmas Jumper Day in the North East

National Christmas Jumper Day 2022 will be celebrated on Thursday December 8. The annual event, which was created by children’s charity Save The Children, is an opportunity to raise money for children across the world, in a fun and festive way.

The charity have encouraged people participating to donate £2, however you can donate as much as you can afford.

The annual event has been going since 2012, with many people donning a Christmas jumper every December 8 and donating to Save The Children. This year, however, it is set to be the most successful year yet as the government will be donating £2 every time a member of the public does.

Many celebrities have signed up to represent and support National Christmas Jumper Day 2022. Celebrities involved include, Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice, Love Island star Dani Dyer, TV doctor Ranj Singh and more.

To celebrate National Christmas Jumper Day 2022 in the North East, you can check if your school or workplace is taking part in the charity event. Alternatively, some people are choosing to socialise with friends and family that day, wearing Christmas jumpers and donating to Save The Children.

Save The Children charity shops across the UK, will be stocking second-hand Christmas jumpers in the run up to the event.  Local Save The Children stores can be found in South Shields and Hexham.
