Jill Halfpenny upcoming drama spotted filming in popular Newcastle coffee shop

The brand-new drama is named The Feud, and is set to air on Channel 5 in 2025.

A brand-new Newcastle-based Channel 5 drama is set to arrive on our screens starring Jill Halfpenny, Gavin and Stacey star Larry Lamb, and Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell in lead roles. 

The Feud, is an upcoming thriller series that will focus on a falling out between neighbours on a suburban street, following one family’s plan to build an extension on their house.

The drama which has been produced by Lonesome Pine Productions in association with Banijay Rights and North East Screen will run for six episodes, and is expected to air on Channel 5 in 2025.

It has been revealed that filming of The Feud has been taking place this month (May 2024), with eagle-eyed residents spotting the cast and crew across the North East, including in Newcastle and South Tyneside. 

Larry Lamb and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, who will play the roles of ‘Terry’ and ‘PC Gallagher’, were recently spotted in popular Newcastle cafe Aidan’s Kitchen, which is located on Starbeck Avenue in Sandyford, Newcastle.

Residents of Jarrow took to social media to share that they had spotted the film crew for The Feud outside of Jarrow Town Hall, which has been transformed from the outside to look like a Magistrates Court for a scene.

Jill Halfpenny, who will play the lead role in the show as Emma Bartlett was also spotted in Jarrow, as she was filmed leaving the ‘Magistrates Court’ set.

Set to join the likes of Jill Halfpenny, Larry Lamb and Jamie O’Donnell in the cast also includes Coronation Street stars Chris Gascoyne and Ray Fearon, The Inbetweeners star Alex Macqueen, and other well-known actors in the industry.
