Restaurant Hjem is a fine-dining restaurant located in the Northumberland countryside.

A Michelin starred restaurant in Northumberland, Restaurant Hjem are offering job opportunities.

In an Instagram post, the luxurious fine-dining restaurant detailed that they are looking to fill two job roles, within the Front of House team.

The first position they are recruiting for is a Sommelier. The restaurant detailed on their post that the position would be “a great and rare opportunity”, and that the position would involve managing their extensive cellar and drinks offering.

The second position they are recruiting for is a full time waiter. They explained in their post that the position would be suited to those looking to gain experience in a Michelin starred dining room and to expand their skills within the sector.

Restaurant Hjem is located in the Hadrian Hotel in the Northumberland countryside. The unique restaurant name, which was pronounced “yem”, comes from the slang word used for home in both the North East and Scandinavia.

The restaurant seats 24 diners, and has an open kitchen. The restaurant incorporates both Northumberian and Scandinavian cuisine, to reflect the heritage of the owners - Swedish chef Alex Neitosvuori and his partner Ally Thompson who was born in Northumberland.

In their recruitment post, Restaurant Hjem detailed the perks of working within their team as they said: “We offer great salaries, a friendly and fun working environment, the opportunity to work within amazing produce and suppliers, and a host of other benefits.”
