Whether you are fresh out of school - wondering what to do next or are looking to switch career paths, attending a job fair or an open event could be exactly what you need.

Job fairs are for people on the lookout for a new job or career. The events which are usually held in a room or hall, are filled with companies or training programmes looking to recruit new staff or students.

A jobs fair organised by The UK Careers Fair will be held at St James’ Park on Wednesday, February 22. The event which is completely free for those who wish to attend, will take place during the hours of 10am and 2pm.

The Newcastle Careers Fair will give job seekers an opportunity to speak with representatives from local employers. Companies expected to attend the event include Go North East, North East Ambulance Service, Teacher Active and more.

Newcastle-based colleges and universities are also usually in attendance. However, they also host their own open events for prospective students.

Newcastle College is hosting an evening open event on Wednesday, February 1 between the hours of 4.45pm and 7pm, at their Rye Hill Campus. The event will include discussions on courses, campus facilities and more.

Newcastle College offers a range of courses to suit the needs of all types of people and their career paths. Courses include, entry-level, 16 to 18 year old courses, apprenticeships, access to HE, full and part time for adults, degree and postgraduate. A variety of subjects are covered within these courses.
