LNER announces schedule for April strike days - including when Newcastle United fans can travel to Fulham

Train service provider LNER has announced its plans for this weekend when industrial action is due to hit trains along the East Coast Main Line, connecting Newcastle with Edinburgh, York, London and more.

The strikes have been voted for by members of the Aslef union, representing train drivers.

Strike action in April starts on Thursday, April 4 and is set to impact various train companies on different days leading into next week with LNER set to run to a reduced service on Saturday, April 6.

This is the same day many Newcastle United fans are travelling to Fulham for a Premier League fixture.

Heading southbound, trains are due to leave Newcastle at 7:30am, 8:57am, 9:57am, 11:58am, 12:58pm, 1:59pm, 4pm and 5:58pm.

Northbound trains from London to Newcastle are expected to leave the capital at 7:30am, 10am, 12 noon, 2pm, 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.
