Local theatre company to present Disney classic in aid of Newcastle’s Maggie’s Cancer Care

A local theatre company will be bringing a Disney Broadway Musical to the North East, as a way of supporting a Newcastle based charity. 

Astravaganza Entertainment, which is based in County Durham, was founded in 2012 by Liam Glendinning, and has put together productions of much-loved musicals, such as Shrek, Annie and Oliver!

Now, they are set to present a brand-new magical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as a way to support local cancer charity Maggie’s Cancer Care.

The highly anticipated show, which has been named Enchanting Nights: Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is set to perform at The Exchange 1856 in North Shields, running from Tuesday, May 28 until Sunday, June 2.

Astravaganza Entertainment are presenting the production in to support the invaluable work of Maggie’s Cancer Care, while raising vital funds and awareness for the charity.

Maggie’s Cancer Care is a Newcastle based organisation, which helps to provide essential support to those affected by cancer. 

They offer a sanctuary of free practical, emotional and social support for cancer patients, as well as their families and friends. 

While providing North East audiences with a magical experience, Astravaganza Entertainment will be dedicated to supporting the meaningful cause by raising funds with charity buckets and raffles (with prizes generously donated by local businesses) during the event, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

Astravaganza Entertainment’s director, David Ducasse said: “Beauty and the Beast is a story that embodies the power of love, acceptance, and community—core values that resonate deeply with Maggie’s Newcastle’s mission.
