Lumo announces an extra service to help Gateshead FC fans get to and from Wembley

Gateshead FC fans heading to the Isuzu FA Trophy Final at Wembley on Saturday, May 11, can now travel to and from the capital with ease thanks to Lumo.

The Newcastle-based train operator has announced details of an extra service to help Heed Army fans.

Those who are heading to London can now book on either the 7:12am or the 10:22am Lumo departures from Newcastle, which travel non-stop to London King’s Cross.

Connecting Tube services mean that fans will arrive well ahead of the 4:15pm kick-off time against Solihull Moors FC.

Lumo has revealed that it has worked with Network Rail to enable an additional departure from London King’s Cross at 8:26pm and will see fans arrive back in Newcastle at 11:10pm.

Martijn Gilbert, managing director at Lumo, said: “As a locally based company, we’re proud to be playing our part in helping Gateshead fans make sure they can get to Wembley and back on the same day for the Trophy Final.

Lumo, which is the official rail partner of Gateshead FC, will also be branding a train with Gateshead FC ‘Heed Army Express’ designs on the day of the final.
