More than 60 people braved the North Sea to raise money for a North Tyneside cancer charity

On Sunday, November 12, more than 60 people braved a dip in the North Sea at Cullercoats Bay to celebrate the fourth birthday of the Live Well with Cancer charity.

Hide AdIn the process, the group raised more than £1,000 for the North Tyneside-based charity, which helps people live life to the full following a cancer diagnosis.
The event was organised by Fiona Clark, Andrea Stutt and Jayne Davidson, who are all from North Tyneside and are avid supporters of the charity.
Maureen Elliott, Founder and CEO of Live Well with Cancer, has praised the three ladies for their efforts in organising the event and revealed to NewcastleWorld how the money will be spent.

Hide AdShe said: "It was amazing to see so many people dipping at Cullercoats Bay to raise funds for our charity.
"They came up with the idea of a ‘birthday dip’ to raise vital funds for us.
"The atmosphere was incredible, there was a lovely community buzz. We were absolutely blown away to find out they had raised £1,200.

"We provide free workshops, events and support groups for anyone affected by cancer living in North Tyneside and surrounding areas.
"The money raised will help in the running of these."
