Newcastle alcohol company Kocktail announce launch of brand-new flavour to celebrate King Charles III

Alcohol company, Kocktail who are based in Forth Good Yard in Newcastle, have announced the launch of a brand-new flavour in their popular range.

Kocktail provides pre-made high quality bottled cocktails, via a subscription service delivered to your door. The idea was brought to life in the summer of 2020, by award-winning, highly experienced bartenders who wanted to provide cocktail-lovers with a high standard of cocktails to be enjoyed from home.

In the autumn of last year, Kocktail announced that their bottled cocktails would also be available to be purchased within John Lewis stores, alongside a new flavour at the time, Pumpkin Spiced Espresso Martini.

Kocktail are back again with yet another brand-new, limited edition cocktail - Crown Martini which has launched exclusively at John Lewis.

The special cocktail has been created to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, and arrived in John Lewis stores and online on Saturday, April 1.

The handcrafted recipe has been created using Hepple Spirits Co. Gin, which is a popular spirit with professional mixologists across the globe. The Hepple Estate is also home town a juniper bush planted by HRH King Charles III himself, making their spirit the perfect choice to include in the special limited edition cocktail.

Prominent yet subtle notes within Crown Martini include elderflower, rose, rhubarb and cucumber.

Co-founder of Kocktail, Andrew Hutchinson, said: “We’re over the moon to announce that our rather special Crown Martini is set to land in John Lewis stores this spring, just in time for the historic Coronation. A moment to spend some quality time with family and friends, we think it’s the perfect cocktail to raise a glass to celebrate!”

Head Distiller at Hepple Spirits Co., Chris Garden, said: “In 2018, Hepple was delighted to welcome King Charles III to the estate where he planted his own juniper tree. The hills of Northumberland are one of England’s last wild sanctuaries, the protection of this wilderness is something the King passionately advocates for. It is from these hills that we harvest the green juniper, Douglas Fir and blackcurrant leaves. So, the taste of our gin will transport you straight back to our moorland. The Crown Martini is therefore the perfect tipple to celebrate the Coronation.”
