Newcastle beautician nominated for prestigious award

A woman from Newcastle, has been named as a finalist in the UK’s most prestigious beauty awards, despite only beginning her career in the lockdown period of 2020.

Margeaux Hamilton, from Benton decided during the pandemic to change careers and pursue her passion to work within the beauty therapy industry.

Margeaux trained in lash application and brows, eventually moving into premises at Carliol Studios located in Newcastle’s city centre.

Now, Margeaux has been recognised for her hard work, skills and services within the beauty industry, as she has been selected as a finalist in the National Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 - which was set up to celebrate the talent across the UK in the hair and beauty industry.

After presenting images of her work and having an in-depth interview about her business, Margeaux was chosen as a finalist in the Last Stylist of the Year category.

“I was absolutely stunned to find that I was a national finalist,” said Margeaux.

She continued: “There is so much competition and so many good people out there that I can’t believe I’ve been nominated in the very first year I applied. I love my job so much and to have got this far in the awards is just amazing.”

The National Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 will be held in Birmingham this April. The special ceremony will be hosted by Blue member and actor, Duncan James.
