Newcastle City Council has announced which roads will be closed this week to make way for the city’s main Remembrance Sunday parade.

The large city centre service is set to take place on Sunday with a military parade from the Civic Centre to the City War Memorial at Old Eldon Square.

Which roads will be closed in Newcastle for Remembrance Sunday?

Seven roads across Newcastle city centre will be closed to accommodate the march and services within the area with cars not able to access the roads. These will all be in place between 10am and 12:30pm on Sunday, November 12.

  • Sandyford Road will be closed from the Civic Centre Car Park access road to St Marys Place

  • St Marys Place will be closed for its entire length

  • Percy Street will be closed for its entire length

  • Blackett Street will be closed for its entire length

  • Northumberland Street will be closed from Blackett Street to Northumberland Road

  • Northumberland Road will be closed from Northumberland Street to John Dobson Street

  • John Dobson Street will be closed from Northumberland Road to St Mary’s Place
