Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter: Six adorable dogs looking for their forever home
From cheeky chap Rupert to the appropriately named high-energy Buzz - these dogs are looking for their forever home in the North East.

The amazing team at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter work tirelessly to help give their four-legged residents a better path in life. At the moment, the shelter has six dogs in their care that are looking for their forever home.
All the animals at the shelter's sites on Claremont Road and in Benton have their own stories and unique needs. The centre takes in abandoned and mistreated animals and coaxes them back to full health and confidence, before sending them off with new loving families.
It sounds simple, but it's a process that requires a hands-on team of 30 to manage and see through from start to finish. Earlier this year NewcastleWorld visited the Benton home to meet Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter's staff and residents.
Below you can meet the six dogs currently looking for a forever home at the shelter, from cheeky Rupert to the high-energy Buzz.
More information about the dogs available to foster at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter can be found here and you can donate to the organisation here.
Information on dogs available for adoption is correct as of Tuesday, November 1.

5. Patch - 10-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier
“Patch came to us as a stray and immediately won the hearts of the staff, although he is an older boy he still firmly believes he is a puppy! Patch loves people and food, they are the two most important things in his life, he is a joyful and comedic character who will undoubtedly brighten any room he walks into in his new home."

6. Spirit - 6-year-old Akita Cross
“Spirit is a real character who is always happy to see you! He oozes personality and is a confident, independent boy who enjoys human company but is just as happy to do his own thing."
