Seasonal Mail Sorter, Royal Mail

Role: The festive season is the busiest time of the year for Royal Mail. The role will see employees work through the Royal Mail system at their Gateshead site, unloading mail and packages from vans, moving post through the centre as well as helping to sort post before it gets delivered across the UK and beyond.

Hours: A series of shifts are available, these are:

• Lates: 2pm - 10pm
• Nights: 10pm - 6am
• Earlies: 6am - 2pm

Wage: Wages depend on the shifts

• Lates: £13.90 per hour
• Nights: £15.11 per hour
• Earlies: 12:54 per hour

Christmas Temporary Sales Advisors, Fenwick

Role: Much like most retail roles, this job will include a wide range of positions across the store, including supporting customers with any issues they may have in-store. These employees are expected to be the face of the brand.

Hours: Both full time and part time roles are on offer with employees able to work between 8-30 hours per week.

Wage: £11.55 per hour

Role: The jewelry brand are looking for people to support an existing team in the city centre. Responsibilities will include creating a welcoming atmosphere in the store, be involved on the shop floor.

Christmas Temporary Food Service Assistant, Fenwick

Role: The store is well known for its range of food - both in the food hall as well as in-store restaurants and bars. This front of house role will see employees offer service at the site’s Terrace, Mason and Rye, Fuego and Hjem sites, among others.

Hours: Hours ranging from 6 - 36.5 hours per week.

Van Driver, Driver Hire

Role: This North East company is looking to recruit several van drivers for clients in Newcastle. They will be delivering click and collect orders across the city to different stores. This role requires any applicants to have a full UK driving licence which has been held for more than one year.

Hours: Monday to Friday, with 6am starts

Wage: £11.50 per hours, with overtime pay after 8 hours. Saturday pay rates rise to £13 per hour.
