His party membership, together with his group membership, have been suspended without prejudice until an investigation is concluded.”
Coun Campion has sat on the city council since 2021, having originally won a by-election following the death of former Newcastle Lib Dem leader Anita Lower, and has been his party’s spokesman on transport issues.
His Castle ward covers the villages of Brunswick, Hazlerigg, and Dinnington as well as sections of the Newcastle Great Park and Kingston Park.
