Presents are being bought, the nights are closing in and temperatures are getting colder.

With the Fenwicks' window now available for the public to enjoy, the next part of the build up to the Christmas period in Newcastle comes from the Life Science Centre, which will be opening its winter ice rink this weekend.

When is the Newcastle Life Centre ice rink opening?

The popular winter attraction will be opening from Sunday, November 11 and the final day of skating will come on Sunday, January 7 2024.

The rink will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Special relaxed sessions with no music and smaller numbers of people on the ice will take place on Sunday, November 26 and Sunday, January 7.

The attraction's website claims skaters will be able to access the ice from 9:30am until late, dependent on availability.

How much is Newcastle's Life Centre Ice Rink?

Prices have been confirmed as £15 for over 18s. Children aged ten or over cost £13.50 while children aged nine or under cost £11.50.

The site is also offering a family of cour deal where a maximum of two adults and kids can enjoy the rink for £46.

Seperate price structures will be in place for the final weekend before Christmas Day.

Sessions last one hour and the site recommends customers order their places online to avoid disappointment.
