Newcastle Post Office set to reopen to restore the service to the local community

The Walkergate Post Office, on Shields Road, is set to reopen later this year as the business is now under new management.
Post Office has confirmed that the brand is due to reopen on Monday, July 8, at 1pm and in turn, will restore Post Office services to the Walkergate area of Newcastle.

Hide AdThe Post Office has been closed since September 2023 due to the resignation of the former postmaster.
Brian Turnbull, Post Office network provision lead, has welcomed the restoration of Post Office services in the Walkergate community.
He said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to this area of Newcastle as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that our customers will continue to use this service.”

Hide AdOnce the Post Office reopens in July, customers will have access to services such as bill payments, cash withdrawals, exchanging foreign currency, postage, and more.
The Post Office’s opening hours will be:
Monday to Friday: 9am until 5.30pm.
Saturday: 9am until 12pm.
Sunday: Closed.
