Newcastle Queen Choriza May part of cast for Ru Paul's Drag Race UK vs The World tour

Choriza May will be part of the show's cast for the UK tour, which includes a night in Newcastle.

Newcastle based drag queen Choriza May has been announced as a member of the of cast for the upcoming Ru Paul's Drag Race UK vs The World tour, which includes a stop on Tyneside.

The tour is being used to commemorate the second season of the spin-off show, which is currently being released weekly on BBC Three.

Eleven queens from the series will be taking part in the tour, which is set to take place over April and May, once the televised series has been completed and aired.

There is also local interest in this tour, with Newcastle based Choriza May due to be part of the cast. At the time of writing, Choriza May is still in the competition.

Spanish-born Choriza May made her first Drag Race appearance in season three of the show's UK edition and was eliminated in week 6. She was one of three North East queens in the competition.

Ahead of the tour, the queen said: “I’m so excited to tour with my drag sisters. I promise to bring my BDE (Big Drag Energy) to the whole tour, but especially my hometown of Newcastle. It’s the city that adopted Choriza!”

The UK tour will head to Newcastle in the second date of the nationwide trip with the queens hitting the stage at 02 City Hall on Friday, April 26.

The tour will start in Glasgow the previous night before heading to Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Bristol, London, Bournemouth and Birmingham.

Tickets are available to buy through Ticketmaster. Prices start from £41.35.
