A new skiwear brand which was created in Newcastle by business studies student Renee Fraser-Shephard, will now launch their first full season in Fenwick.

Sloobie Ski Wear was first developed two years ago by Renee after she spotted a gap in the market for refined base layers used by skiers.

Using the knowledge gained from studying for her degree at Northumbria University, Renee launched her skiwear brand, selling her items online, which allowed her to achieve global sales.

Now, Renee has been given the opportunity to stock Sloobie Ski Wear at Fenwick’s flagship Newcastle store, within Mother Mercy’s cocktail bar.

A spokesperson for Mother Mercy said: “We are super excited to be bringing the apres-ski vibes to Newcastle this year. Mother Mercy will be every Christmas shopper’s heaven, with a cosy atmosphere that will make you feel like you’re in the alps.”

Each item in the Sloobie Ski Wear collection has been meticulously curated by Sloobie’s all-female team, which includes in-built shapewear designed to help women look and feel their best on the slopes.

Given that customers will be able to purchase the exciting new skiwear brand from Mother Mercy, the cocktail bar has also created a brand-new cocktail dedicated to their new partner, named the Sloobie Spritz.

Sloobie Ski Wear commented: “We are thrilled to be kicking off our collaboration with Mother Mercy. It is our favourite spot for a cocktail, and we love the shopping too!”
