However, Newcastle is set to have its busiest year ever in 2024, with many stag and hen parties set to descend on the city.

Matt Mavir, managing director of Last Night of Freedom said:  “Newcastle is already incredibly popular, but next year it looks set to reach the next level.

“There’s a massive buzz around the city, the likes of which we haven’t seen around here since the mid-90s, and it seems everyone wants to tap into that.

“That’s undoubtedly a key factor behind what we can only describe as a tsunami of Newcastle bookings that we’ve had for 2024. As a destination, it is absolutely crushing it. About 20% of our 2024 bookings to date are in Newcastle and the city could easily have a record year.”

Matt who has helped to organise over 45,000 hen and stag trips, further explained that Newcastle is part of the “holy trinity” of hen and stag locations, alongside Liverpool and Benidorm.

Figures discovered by Last Night of Freedom also revealed that last weekend (May 19 to May 21), over 230 hen and stag groups partied in the city, which is worth almost £2 million to the local economy.

Matt has estimated that next year, hen and stag parties could bring around £40 million to the city’s economy.

“That’s a staggering amount of money for any city, which shows just how important the sector is for Newcastle,” said Matt, who founded Last Night of Freedom in 1999.
