In spite of being on the other side of the world, touring in Australia, Sam Fender remains to be showing and spreading the love for Newcastle United.

After the club announced the Italian’s signing, fans mocked up a design which hilariously superimposed the midfielder onto the Birra Moretti logo that reads ‘Lived in Milan, never seen a Sunderland fan.’

The crafty work even caught the eye of the Italian larger company themselves. “So good,” they tweeted alongside the trademark Italian hand gesture emoji. “We love the logo creation. We would love to get this onto some bottles for Sandro Tonali... Let’s do it?”

Much to fans dismay, however, this is yet to come to fruition.

But, we have the next best thing: Geordie icon Sam Fender sporting the already iconic logo on stage for all to see.

Last night he posted to his Instagram story a video from the crowd proudly in the t-shirt. And one of the first things Tonali did when he arrived on Tyneside was follow the North Shields musician on Instagram, so no doubt he’s seen it and loved it too.
