This week a clip of the Borussia Dortmund team bus receiving a parking fine on the Tynemouth seafront went viral.

A video posted to Facebook, thought to be taken on Thursday, shows the bus receiving a parking ticket on the Tynemouth seafront. The unmistakable coach was parked horizontally across numerous parking spaces opposite Longsands beach.

This comes after Newcastle United were beaten by the Bundesliga outfit 1-0 at St James’ Park on Wednesday night. They play Dortmund again at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday, November 7.

Josh Valks, who captured the incident, posted the clip to social media with the caption: “Borussia Dortmund only gone and got themselves a parking ticket (someone’s not happy about last night’s score.)”

So NewcastleWorld approached North Tyneside Council in relation to the incident.

And having confirmed the fine, they offered up a very quirky response, suggesting Eddie Howe collect the cash anf bring it back to the UK next month, along with three points!

A spokesperson for North Tyneside Council said: “Our Civil Enforcement Officers are obliged to issue a ticket when a vehicle is parked in contravention to restrictions in place.

“We can confirm earlier today, a £50 ticket was given to a bus parked on Grand Parade, Tynemouth. The charge will reduce to £25 if paid within 14 days.

“If it makes it easier for our visitors, we will have a word with Eddie and the lads to see if they can collect it for us on 7 November after they get their revenge in Dortmund. We hope the ticket and the grey North East weather didn’t dampen their trip to our stunning coastline.”
