Newcastle United star Joelinton announces birth of third child as Bruno Guimaraes sends support

Newcastle United forward Joelinton has welcomed a baby boy with his fiancée Thays Gondim, and announced the news of the arrival in an emotional social media post.

The Brazilian couple who had been together many years before becoming engaged in June 2022, share two other children together, who will become older siblings to their newest family member.

Joelinton and Thays revealed in February that they would be welcoming a baby boy into the world, celebrating with friends and family at a gender reveal held at Newcastle United football stadium, St James’ Park. The event saw the football pitch decorated with balloons and a giant light-up sign that read: “OH BABY”. To reveal the gender of their child, Joelinton kicked a ball before blue powder exploded from pyrotechnics.

In a joint feed post for Instagram, the loved-up couple announced that their son had been born. The post was made up of eight images, which included the couple holding their newborn child and their two children meeting their new sibling.

The post was captioned by Joelinton in his native Portuguese language, but the translation read: “Children are heritage from the lord, a reward from him... 🙏🏽 welcome back my love. Daddy, Mommy and your Siblings are beaming with so much happiness to meet you.. We love you and we will forever be a beautiful family 🙏🏽 ❤️”

Joelinton’s Newcastle United teammate and close friend Bruno Guimaraes showed his support, as he wrote in the comments: “Health to you, my family ❤️ ❤️”.

On his Instagram Story, Joelinton also shared a video of bringing the newborn baby to his young children, who were excited to hold him for the first time. Joelinton and Thays are yet to reveal the newborn’s name.
