25,000 extra Covid booster jabs will be provided to vaccine centres and pharmacies across South Tyneside as they ramp up their booster rollout.

People are being urged to come forward before the end of the year for any of their Covid vaccinations so people can have as much protection as possible.

Meanwhile, Newcastle Theatre Royal has had to cancel two performances of its panto this week after cast members tested positive for Covid.

The theatre released a statement that said that they never take the decision to cancel a performance lightly. They will also be contacting ticket holders to give them an option in how to proceed.

And finally, Newcastle United have requested an explanation on the referee decisions that were made at Sunday’s game.

The club has written to the Premier League to question the refereeing that they feel went against them when they played against Manchester City.
