Newcastle weather: Heavy gusts of wind expected to batter North East this week
Newcastle and the wider North East saw heavy rain throughout the last few days, with warnings in place towards the end of the working week as wet conditions worsened.
As we head into the new week, we can expect drier commutes across Tyneside but windy conditions will mean things still won’t be smooth sailing.

Anyone hoping for a completely dry week may still not be in luck too. Met Office weather warnings for heavy showers were issued across the UK on Sunday morning, although these are only expected to hit more southern areas. The closest warning to the North East only reaches as far north as Whitby. This is in place for Tuesday, October 1.
This strong wind was initially felt across the region over the early hours of Monday, but will return once again into Tuesday.
The Met Office is predicting gusts to not fall below 26 miles per hour throughout Monday morning, with this expecting to peak at around 9am before falling closer to 20 miles per hour over the remainder of the opening day of the week.

This is expected to be combined with showers throughout Tuesday, although any rain is not expected to be as heavy as we saw last week.
The remainder of the working week will see temperatures rise to around 14°C each day, falling to overnight lows of around 8°C. After a wet start to the week, conditions are expected to dry out over the second half of the week.
