Newcastle weather: Met Office issues yellow rain weather warning for North East
We have seen a wet weekend to continue the trend of a rainy year so far in 2024, and the conditions are not set to improve soon with the Met Office’s newest weather warning.

Hide AdThe warning, which was put in place just after 10am on Monday morning, covers Newcastle, parts of western County Durham, inland Northumberland as well as much of south east Scotland.
Currently in place for 8am on Tuesday, July 16 until 8pm on the same day, the North East is the most southernmost point set to be impacted by the heavy rain.
Met Office experts have told the public to expect spray and flooding on roads, which will result in longer journey times while travel on public transport may also take longer than expected.

Hide AdThis is not the only rain warning in the UK, with a second impacting much of England from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
Yellow weather warnings are used to make people aware of potential light impacts due to weather, such as travel delays or general disruption of day-to-day activities. It is the least severe type of warning
There is a chance weather warnings can change in severity. Any changes will be announced by the Met Office.
