April is already ticking away and with it brings hopes of some warmer, brighter Spring weather.

The weather has been a bit of a mixed bag across the region lately, with sun, showers and wind all being felt in recent days.

To clear things up, here’s a look at the weather forecast for Newcastle over the coming days.

Is there a weather warning in place for Newcastle?

The Met Office has so far issued three weather warnings this week, two yellow warnings for wind and one yellow warning for snow.

However, Newcastle has been spared this time, as the warnings are in place for north west England and northern Scotland.

What is the weather going to be like in Newcastle this week?

6 April

Tonight looks set to be cloudy but fortunately the showers should ease as we head later into the evening.

Tomorrow the cloud will remain, and gusts of up to 30mph will create windy conditions on the commute to school or work.

Showers in the evening will fade away by around 5pm.

8 April

Newcastle will have a much brighter start on Friday, but 7am could have a ‘feels like’ temperature of as cold as -3°C.

The temperature will rise during the day but despite the sunny conditions may only reach a high of 8°C.

There is a minimal chance of a shower heading into the evening, but Friday night should be dry.

Saturday looks to be sunny but with an icy feel across the city, but clouds will lead to the temperature gradually starting to climb.

No rain is expected, but it looks set to be a cold evening and night.

10 April

The last day of the week will perhaps be the day with the least sunshine, with a thick cloud likely for most of the day.

Some light showers could be scattered as the day progresses.

These should clear by the night, bringing a much drier, although still cloudy, start to the new week.

Will it snow in Newcastle this week?

As exciting as the prospect of snow would be, the milder temperatures and sunnier skies means that the chance of any white stuff falling over Newcastle this week is highly unlikely.

What has the Met Office said?

The Met Office has issued their summary for the north east region which runs from tonight (6 April) through until 10 April.

Here’s what they have said…
