Newcastle weather: when imminent ‘heavy rain’ will begin and end on Tyneside

Rainstorms are set to hit the North East on Friday afternoon.

The Met Office has predicted that heavy rain will hit Newcastle and Tyneside on Friday.

There's over an 80% chance of storms coming to the city on the afternoon of Friday, September 30 with weather experts sure that downpours will hit the region.

Despite the imminent rain, no weather warning has been announced by The Met Office with storms set to pass fairly quickly.

Below you can find a weather forecast breakdown for Friday - and when more rainfall is due in Newcastle across the weekend.

Friday, September 30

12 pm - 10 degrees with 80% chance of heavy rain

1 pm - 11 degrees with 80% chance of heavy rain

2 pm - 11 degrees with more than 95% chance of heavy rain

3 pm - 11 degrees with more than 95% chance of heavy rain

4 pm - 12 degrees with more than 95% chance of heavy rain

5 pm - 13 degrees with sunny intervals and 20% of rain

6 pm - 13 degrees with sunny intervals and 30% chance of rain

7 pm - 13 degrees with a clear night and less than 5% chance of rain

The rest of the night is set to be dry.

Saturday, October 1

Saturday will be largely dry in Newcastle, with highs of 15 degrees and lows of 10 degrees.

There are a few showers on the cards. Chance of precipitation is between 30 and 40% from 3 pm to 10 pm.

Sunday, October 2

The Met Office is not predicting any rain on Sunday with highs of 15 degrees and lows of 10 degrees.
