Newcastle’s female comedians to perform comedy gala in support of rape crisis charity

A group of female comedians from the North East are coming together to perform a comedy gala in support of Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland.
Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland is a North East based charity that provides services to women and girls in Tyneside and Northumberland, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives.

Hide AdServices are free and confidential, and the charity is completely independent of the criminal justice system.
The comedy gala named Tyne To Stand Up, which is now in its third year, will raise funds and awareness for Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, with proceeds from ticket sales going directly to the charity.
Hosted by BBC’s Casualty actress and North East comedian Sammy Dobson, the gala will perform a one-night-only show on Tuesday, July 2 at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House.

Tyne To Stand Up is organised by Newcastle-based comedy club Felt Nowt, a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to transform the North East comedy scene for audiences and comedians.
