NewcastleWorld’s 12 days of Christmas: Day NINE sees a man tasked with taming chaos at Newcastle United

It’s day NINE of our 12 Days of Christmas feature - and this time it’s a focus back on football.

Day NINE of NewcastleWorld’s 12 Days of Christmas pays homage to a man who pushed Bournemouth from the brink of bankruptcy to Premier League contenders - and restored hope back to Tyneside.

Fans of the club will be hopeful of the change in regime, but a difficult run of fixtures haven’t given Howe the easiest of starts.

While results are not yet significantly improving under Howe, it is hard to deny the breath of fresh air felt in the stands and in the squad.

A bolstering in the January transfer window should see the former Burnley manager piece together a stronger club fit for a push away from the relegation zone.

Despite the tough run of results, Howe has offered fans a breath of fresh air not just from a miserable period of relegation battles and mid-table finishes but from the previous owners.

The Saudi-backed consortium and British executive Amanda Staveley have the funds to make a success of Newcastle United, and Howe’s appointment is a strong first step despite results not matching the ambitions of the new owners and manager.
